Now Savour ‘Authentic Arabic Cuisine’ in Ur Neighbourhood
By Special Correspondent

Just 28 days of opening of ‘Bistro Grill’ at Galleria, has created a furore the way locals have lapped this different cuisine to their palates. Powai lacked an Arabic Cuisine eatery. With Chinese, Mughlai, Continental etc ruling the roost ‘Bistro Grill’ has intelligently positioned itself as an authentic Arabic eatery in Powai. Tucked away on the first floor in Galleria, Hiranandani facing the fountain, the place is impeccably done up with a chic seating arrangement in a contemporary look. It is worth the effort climbing the flight of steps. Speaking to Nikhil and Ricky, the urbane entrepreneurs of Bistro Grill, Powai on the distinct taste of Arabic cuisine, they said, “It is the method of marinating and grill cooking using olive oil, Arabic herbs like Zattar, dried Mint, Thyme and Samak that makes Arabic food great on the tongue and soft on the stomach. We have our chef worked in the Middle East for many years.” Almost all the dishes are grilled and just a few are deep-fried. The menu has an astounding fare for Vegans too. The KAPSA biryani is flavoured rice dish with typical Arabic herbs with veg/non-veg topping is a great meal giving a fresh change to the taste buds. We found the Bistro Chef Salad a great starter for calorie-conscious foodies. The special dressing and crisp veggies are gentle and filling. For first timers to this Arabic cuisine we recommend Shish Tawook which is marinated chicken or paneer grilled on skewers with crispy mixed salad. The sliced black olives are sure reminders of Mediterranean. Popular takeaway fare could be Chicken Mussakkan, it is roasted shredded chicken with bread, Arabic curd and Vinegar pickles and Chicken Shawarma, this is boneless chicken grilled on a skewer served with fresh vegetables and Arabic bread. They have a variety of pizzas, ice creams, sandwiches and drinks on the menu for kids and alike. So, if you are bored with the usual fare give this joint a shot. We found the food great; it reminded us of being in Dubai or Egypt.
